How we handle your information.

This policy explains what information Candice Bee, operating as Candice the Strategist through BeeVisible LLC ("we," "us"), collects when you visit candicebee.com, contact us, or subscribe to the WIP newsletter, and how we use, share, and protect it. Who we are

Candice Bee is an independent strategy director based in New York, operating through BeeVisible LLC (doing business as Candice the Strategist). For privacy purposes, BeeVisible LLC is the data controller of information collected through this site and the WIP newsletter. Our mailing address is 28 Liberty St., New York, NY 10005.

Information we collect

We only collect information you give us, plus limited technical data needed to operate the site:

• Newsletter signups. When you subscribe to WIP we collect your email address. Our newsletter provider (beehiiv) also records standard email analytics on our behalf, including your IP address, approximate location, browser, device, and engagement data such as opens and clicks. The WIP newsletter is hosted on a beehiiv-managed domain that shows a cookie banner on first visit so you can opt out of non-essential cookies there.
• Contact and inquiries. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you send us (name, email, and the contents of your message).
• Site usage. Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

How we use it

• To send you the WIP newsletter and related transactional messages (welcome, unsubscribe confirmation).
• To respond to inquiries and, where relevant, discuss potential work together.
• To keep the site secure and functioning, and to understand at a high level which content resonates.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Legal basis (EU/UK visitors)

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on your consent when you subscribe to the newsletter, and on our legitimate interests (running and securing the site, responding to inquiries you initiate) for other processing. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of vendors to run the site and newsletter. They process information on our behalf under their own privacy commitments:

• beehiiv — hosts the WIP newsletter, stores subscriber records, and sends email. beehiiv privacy policy.
• Hosting and infrastructure — our site is deployed to a managed hosting platform that handles request logging, TLS, and content delivery.

These providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, transfers rely on the vendor's published safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

Cookies and analytics

candicebee.com does not set any cookies and does not run advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking. Essential local storage may be used to keep the site functioning (for example, to remember UI state), but nothing is shared with third parties from this domain. Because we set no non-essential cookies here, we do not show a cookie banner on candicebee.com. If we add analytics or any non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, for EU/UK visitors, ask for consent first. The WIP newsletter is hosted separately on a beehiiv-managed domain, which does show its own cookie banner on first visit.

How long we keep information

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record. Unsubscribed addresses may be retained in a suppression list so we do not accidentally email you again.
• Inquiries: kept for as long as needed to respond and, where relevant, to maintain a record of the engagement, then deleted.
• Server logs: retained for a short operational window by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent to the newsletter (use the unsubscribe link in any email).
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EU/UK).

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Children

This site and the newsletter are intended for professional audiences and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and rely on reputable providers for email and hosting. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers.
